All Wananchi mobile water purifiers are designed to operate efficiently using solar energy. When paired with folding solar panels, known as the ‘Solar Mat,’ Séon water purifiers can ensure continuous daytime operation, even in remote locations.
Each 200-Watt Solar Mat comprises five 40W crystalline solar panels that fold neatly into a compact carry case. These semi-flexible panels are durable enough to withstand fieldwork conditions, providing reliable power generation wherever you go.
Solar panels work by converting sunlight into electricity through a process called Photovoltaic (PV) conversion. The panels act as collectors, absorbing sunlight to generate electricity. The larger the panel, the more energy it can capture, which is then stored in a battery for later use. The energy generated is delivered in the form of DC voltage.
For larger systems, multiple Solar Mats can be daisy-chained together using a coupler to increase power output. While lightweight Séon water purifiers feature built-in batteries for energy storage, larger systems require a standalone battery bank with an inverter to convert DC power from the Solar Mats into AC power for the water purification systems.
